NHS Consultant Appointment
Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust
The trust has a catchment area of almost a million people around the Windsor, Ascot, Slough and Reading area. In the NHS, Mr Uppal treats common skin cancers, breast conditions, birth defects, burns, road accidents and performs breast reconstruction, hand surgery and microsurgery. The standards required to become a Consultant in the NHS are extremely high. Some plastic surgeons only perform cosmetic surgery and do not provide the wide range of operations required of an NHS consultant. There are also many more safety checks made on NHS consultants who work in a department of plastic surgery as opposed to surgeons who work alone.
